How to Dispute a Charge SoFi

How to dispute a charge SoFi, start to finish: for a debit charge, log in to sofi.com, open your Checking and Savings account, go to Transactions, and click “Report an issue” — or call SoFi Customer Support at 855-456-7634. SoFi publishes no dedicated credit-card dispute tap-flow, so credit-card disputes go through that same number plus an FCBA written notice. The clocks that bind you: 60 days from the statement for both credit (FCBA) and debit (SoFi-published + Reg E), a 92-day online-form window for debit, and a 120-day network window from the transaction. Enter your dates and get every clock that applies, each labeled by who sets it.

Map your SoFi dispute

Private by design — everything runs in your browser.

Which SoFi card is the charge on?
What went wrong with this charge?
The FCBA written-notice clock (credit) and the Reg E notice clock (debit) both count from the statement — not from when you noticed the charge.
The 120-day card-network filing window counts from the transaction date — a different start date from the 60-day statement clock.
For unauthorized debit charges, your federal liability tier ($50 vs $500) turns on how fast you report after learning of the loss — this lets the navigator show which tier you are in.

SoFi's filing routes — and the clocks that actually bind you

SoFi is an online bank: SoFi Checking and Savings accounts come with a World Debit Mastercard, and SoFi credit cards are issued by SoFi Bank, N.A. pursuant to license by Mastercard. The routes differ by account type, and the credit-card route has an honest gap — read it before you file:

RouteWho it is forHow
Online — “Report an issue”SoFi debit (Checking and Savings) charges you did not performLog in to sofi.com, select your SoFi Checking and Savings account, navigate to Transactions, use Filter then Transaction type to find the charge, select it via the down arrow, and click “Report an issue”. Then select a topic and describe the issue. SoFi's online form accepts the dispute only if you did not perform the transaction, it has posted and is not still pending, you are disputing five (5) transactions or less, and the transactions are from within the last 92 calendar days. If you do not see a dispute option for your posted transaction, chat with one of SoFi's agents from inside your logged-in account.
By phone — one numberCredit and debitSoFi Customer Support: 855-456-7634. SoFi publishes no credit/debit phone split, so this page claims none — one number for both. Use the phone when the case is complex, when you cannot see a “Report an issue” option, or when you need to stop further charges immediately.
By mail — FCBA written notice (credit only)Credit-card billing problemsMail the FCBA written billing-error notice within 60 days of the first bill showing the error to the billing-inquiries address printed on your statement, by certified mail with return receipt. No SoFi-published credit-card mailing address was found — use the address on your own statement, not an address from a blog.

The clocks, honestly labeled

SoFi's debit article publishes a 92-day figure and its fraud policy publishes a 60-day figure — and they are not the same kind of number. The 92-day figure decides only whether the online form accepts your dispute. The 60-day figure decides your rights:

ClockWho sets itThe rule
SoFi 60-day notice + Reg E 60-day notice (debit)SoFi-published and federal law, alignedReport no later than 60 days after the first statement on which the problem or error occurred was made available — SoFi's own commitment is that you will not be held responsible for unauthorized or erroneous card transactions reported inside that window; otherwise SoFi may not be required to follow its error-resolution procedures. Federal law (Regulation E) sets the same 60-day mark, with a 10-business-day investigation and provisional credit if it runs longer
Online-form eligibility (debit)SoFi-published — eligibility only, not a deadlineTransactions from within the last 92 calendar days, posted not pending, five or fewer, and not performed by you. Missing this window means using the chat or phone route — it does not by itself end your rights
FCBA written notice (credit)Federal lawWritten billing-error notice within 60 days of the first bill showing the error; creditor must acknowledge in writing within 30 days and resolve within two billing cycles
Network filing windowCard-network norm — not SoFi-publishedMastercard frameworks let the issuer file most dispute categories up to about 120 days from the transaction processing date

Fraud controls SoFi actually publishes

Freeze your card right away from the SoFi web or mobile app under “More” if you see suspicious activity. If you state that a debit transaction is fraudulent in the online form, SoFi will deactivate the Checking and Savings debit card and number and order you a new card. SoFi's fraud policy states you are covered by the Mastercard Zero Liability policy and will not be held responsible for unauthorized or erroneous card transactions as long as you report them no later than 60 days after the first statement on which the problem occurred was made available — and lost or stolen debit cards must be reported within 2 business days. SoFi's debit agreement adds that SoFi will tell you the results within 3 business days after completing its investigation, with a written explanation if it decides there was no error.

The credit-card gap, stated plainly

SoFi publishes no dedicated credit-card dispute tap-flow on its support site — only generic Learn articles that carry SoFi's own disclaimer that they may describe products or services SoFi does not provide. So this page invents no credit-card tap-flow, no credit-card mailing address, and no credit-card $0-liability promise. For a SoFi credit card, report through SoFi Customer Support at 855-456-7634 and protect the FCBA clock with the written notice described above. If a guide shows you a SoFi credit-card “Report an issue” button sequence, treat it as unverified unless you can find it on support.sofi.com yourself.

The trap this tool exists to catch

The 92-day figure looks like a deadline and it is not one: it is the online form's eligibility window, counted from the transaction, while the 60-day figure that decides your rights counts from the statement. A debit charge 80 days old can still be inside the online window but past the 60-day statement clock if the statement went out early — and a charge 100 days old can be outside the online window while the network window is still open. File through SoFi and ask specifically whether your case can still be filed as a network dispute, and put the request in writing. Your cardmember or deposit account agreement is the final word. Notes on sourcing honesty: no dedicated SoFi credit-card dispute flow, credit-card mailing address, or credit-card $0-liability promise was found on a SoFi source, so none is claimed here; SoFi's Learn articles carry SoFi's own disclaimer that they may describe products or services SoFi does not provide, so they are used only for the published support number, never for a credit-card flow.

General information only — not legal advice. SoFi's terms change and your account agreement governs your dispute. Verify deadlines with SoFi and, for federal rights, the FCBA and Regulation E texts themselves.
